I'm gonna GETCHA!

One of the most amazing people I've known in my life was my great grandma Getcha. I actually gave her the name Getcha because she used to crawl around chasing me saying, "I'm gonna get'cha!" Rylan has got the crawling bit down now so yesterday I was playing with her & I thought I'd try out some of Getcha's moves. Ry loved it. She would gear up and start crawling then stop and turn around to make sure I was coming after her. We had such a great time until her little arms weren't moving fast enough for her body and she took a face plant. Her face was red for the rest of the night. She was too cute!

Piper and I try to expose Rylan to as much adventure as we experienced in our childhood, I mean we turned out ok, right? Any time there is an extra laundry basket or box lying around the house you better believe we have Ry in it and we are pushing her around. I think the laundry basket bit was a favorite from Piper's childhood. Chase & I would push her all around the kitchen. If Rylan Piper turns out to be anything like her Aunt Essa it will be a huge blessing.

Tonight Brian & I went to a choir concert at the LHHS and Aunt Essa stayed with Ry. We walked in from the concert and the two of them were snuggled up on the couch watching Center Stage 2 (they maybe should have stopped after the first one, yikes!) Rylan was so tired so I fed her and she fell asleep in my lap. I just sat there staring at her and stealing kisses. I could have watched her all night but I knew that I needed to put her in her crib so she could get some good sleep. These 10 months have flown by. I really have tried to soak up every second with her. I feel so blessed that God chose me to raise his perfect little girl. I love her so so much it's crazy!

Putting everything in her mouth finally paid off

So I was cleaning up after bible study the other day and I ran into the kitchen really quick to put something up and when I came back this is what I found...

Bonus Time

Today was such an amazing day.  Brian took the day off because he is going to be working a ton this weekend.  It was such a beautiful day in Dallas so we packed a picnic and headed to the Arboretum.  Brian had gone there last week for some time of solitude so he knew the exact spot he wanted to take us.  We set up shop and enjoyed a yummy lunch which consisted of one part tuna to 3 parts chips (I love that Brian loves salty foods too).  Ry was on the move putting everything in her mouth.

When we got back from our busy day Ry was so tired that she kept on hurting herself, it was so sad.  First when she was pushing her baby in the stroller she slipped and the stroller came down on top of her.  She recovered from that and then while playing with the Rock Band instruments she hit one of the decorative wall hangings (which need to go up on the wall by the way) and it fell on her.  I decided to give her a bath so she could head to bed early and then while in the tub she slipped.  There wasn't very much water in the tub so "she fine" but it was a rough 30 minutes for our little muchkin.
