A Crazy Night at the Lonergan's

Words can not describe how stinkin' blessed we are to be surounded by the people the Lord has put in our life. The other night I was so full of joy as I sat on my couch and witnessed the following things...

Our sweet friend Carlie came over to say "bye" before she left for Baylor.

Piper decided to cut Matt Golley's hair, and no she has no hair cutting experience.

Goolia finally stepped in and did a steller job. We used the dust buster to clean up the stray hairs. Katie Morris started a dance party! Whohoo!

Our great friend Amanda bought a dvd player on Craig's List so we had her put it together to make sure she really got a good deal. Once it was up and running we did pretend aerobics to the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" just to make sure it was going to work for her hotel workouts.

In all the craziness Piper decided to whip out her books and study for her teaching test.

I decided to bust out the super braid from back in the day, Goolia did not like it. (That was for you Court!)

Messy Girl

We are still having a hard time getting Rylan to eat. If we can get her to actually sit in her high chair for 5 minutes & take a few bites before she crawls out we count it a success. Here is a picture of one of our last dinner time attempts.

Our Wild Child

It has been a super fun weekend. We did not do anything super special but Rylan's personality is really starting to show. I earned the bad mom award on Saturday. I ran out to the car to get something and Rylan followed me. She fell on the cement steps in the garage and hit her face. It broke my heart. It did not keep her down for long. She quickly began running around like a mad woman again. For some reason she has really been loving her swing these days which is actually funny since she did not love it as a baby.

Tonight I was trying to cook dinner for our leadership team and I was running late. Rylan was such a good girl. She entertained herself for over an hour. She some how managed to unload one of the drawers in the kitchen, take it out & then she sat inside it. She was totally content drawing in her book. She then got bored of that drawer and started going through the one that has all of the headphones and car chargers. Every once in awhile she would put the ear buds up to her ears and test them out, it was really cute.

Tonight our good friend Katie got back from a mission trip & brought Rylan back the cutest backpack. We put it on her and she was so proud. She was running around everywhere with a HUGE smile on her face. Thanks Aunt Katie!

Summer Fun

Rah Rah!
So Aunt Piper has been working cheer camps this summer. The other day she brought Rylan home her first cheer shirt! We tried to get her to start practicing some high Vs and then she started lifting her leg up like she was doing a high kick. It was too funny.

My little baby bird!
I have been a little worried lately because Ry has not been eating a ton. We went to the dr. on Friday for her 15 month check up and she is in the 20% for weight & the 80% for height. The other day I was trying to get her to eat grilled cheese but then Daddy was home and they wanted to play so this is how she ended up eating her sandwich. Some might think it is gross but I thought it was really cute!

I love the location of our house. One of the many perks of living next to the high school is during football season I can sit at my kitchen table and hear the drum line performing. Last week there was a competition going on at the stadium at night so after Ry's bath we walked outside to listen a little and she started dancing. It was much better than going to bed to mom's singing.

4th of July!

We had an amazing 4th this year. We woke up and walked out the front door and enjoyed the neighborhood parade. I LOVE the location of our house.

After the parade we went out to Brian's mom's house in Farmersville. When we got there we stuffed our faces with her famous pancakes. Ry loved them.

Ry met the horses & the donkey for the first time. We put her on the horse and she immediately started clapping. She loved it!

We then proceeded to enjoy a Triple Feature which included: The Little Mermaid (Brian knew 90% of the words, I was a little scared but fell more in love with him), Pocahontas & Enchanted. We then had round 2 of the food: ribs & Nonnie's famous German potato salad. It was so good.

TROUBLE!

So I went out of town last weekend with a few of my good friends and Rylan stayed home with her Daddy. They had a great time without mom around. They went on their first date to Spring Creek BBQ. I wish I was there to take a picture of them. He said he dressed her up in a special outfit and they had an amazing time. When I called home to check on them Brian told me that Rylan had learned to crawl out of her highchair! When I got home I was able to capture it. I know this is not a good habit to start but I had to see her do it once. It is so interesting to see how the wheels turn in her mind.

A girl after my own heart

So Rylan has been taking these super long naps lately. I must say I'm pretty thankful. There is just something that fills me with joy when I know my little girl is eating well & has had some good rest. It is funny the things that now make my day. Anyways, Rylan has these stuffed animals by her bed & I caught her kissing the giraffe the other day....a girl after my own heart! I'm beginning to wonder if she really is napping for 3 hours or if she is just in her crib playing with all her stuffed animals. I might need to start watching the video monitor more.

Daddy loves going in and getting Ry after her nap. The other day he hopped in her crib with her. I was so thankful the whole crib did not break. He is such a kid at heart! I'm really raising two children! I love it!
